Introduction:Private labels, after establishing themselves in the developed countries are now eyeing the emerging markets as their potential destinations. India, being one of the most attractive emerging destinations for retail has the required potential for growth of retailer's brands. Future Group with its retail arm Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited (PRIL), is leading in the Indian organised retail industry. PRIL has the fame of first introducing private labels in Indian retail segment, followed by other retail groups. With its presence in both value and lifestyle retailing, PRIL had introduced labels in almost every product category across its stores and remained profitable with increasing customer acceptance. However, the question is how far the company's private labels would grow and be successful in the Indian organised retail industry?
